Dr. Leonel Mejia joins CSA Animal Nutrition

CSA Animal Nutrition is pleased to announce that Dr. Leonel Mejia has joined its team as a consulting poultry nutritionist.

Dr. Mejia will provide nutrition services and technical support to CSA’s poultry and egg producer clients. He will collaborate with customers to achieve production goals and improve their economic outcome. CSA Animal Nutrition President Charles Shininger expressed his excitement about Dr. Mejia’s skills, background and experience in broiler breeder and broiler nutrition that he brings to the nutrition team. CSA is committed to investing in and building a team with nutritionists that have practical industry nutrition experience that can deliver value to our clients.

Dr. Mejia brings with him 11 years of industry experience in poultry nutrition and technical service, having worked most recently for 9 years as the associate technical director at Cobb-Vantress in the Americas and as a poultry scientist for DSM Nutritional Products prior to that. Leonel holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences from EAP Zamorano (Honduras), a master’s degree from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in poultry science from Mississippi State University.

Dr. Mejia and his wife, Adriana, and daughter, Fatima Lucia, reside in West Chester, Ohio, and will be working out of our Dayton, Ohio, office.

“We are confident that his education, skills, multi-lingual fluency, experiences, and relationships will contribute significantly to the CSA team and our client customers,” the company said.
