Dellait opens new laboratory in the US

Dellait animal nutrition company has opened a new laboratory in Brooking at the South Dakota State University Research Park, allowing the company to enhance feed and forage analytical services and expertise for cattle and crop farmers in Brookings and throughout the region. The laboratory includes NIR and wet chemistry equipment to process a high volume of samples.

Collective Knowledge Program launches microlearning on feed safety culture

Following the launch of the transport microlearning modules in early February, GMP+ International is now rolling out a series on feed safety culture in partnership with the Collective Knowledge Program. Various subjects will be covered over the coming months. The first microlearning in this series is now available on the platform.

VDL Groep establishes VDL Insect Systems business unit

In 2020, VDL Agrotech took its first steps in insect feeding systems. Since then, the company has expanded its organisation and product portfolio. This has resulted in the establishment of the business unit VDL Insect Systems by VDL Groep.

Perstorp to host GastriVision 2022

Perstorp will host a 2-hour online event on 31 March at 10.00 (CET) with a focus on ‘a brighter future in gut wealth’. During the live round table event, various topics of interest will be discussed, and speakers include well-known international guests in the animal feed industry.

Kaesler Forum 2022: Scientific event on antibiotic resistance

On 30 and 31 March 2022, feed additives manufacturer, Kaesler Nutrition, is hosting the Kaesler Forum 2022 in Berlin. Experts from science and the field will meet for discussions on the role that animal farming plays in the development of antibiotic resistance and what alternatives are available on the market. The aim is to find solutions that reduce the use of antibiotics in livestock farming and help maintain their effectiveness in the future.

DSM’s Sustell receives independent ISO certification

Royal DSM has achieved International Organisation Standard (ISO) lifecycle assessment assurance by DNV for its intelligent sustainability service, Sustell, which measures the environmental footprint of animal protein production.

Hamlet Protein featured in global thought leaders’ series

Hamlet Protein is being featured in the 50 Global Leaders Series which is a series of documentary films broadcast by Reuters showing how industries are set to evolve in a rapidly changing landscape. The company represents the animal nutrition industry in the segment ‘Global food security – the evolution of livestock nutrition management’ and explores how the company can contribute to feeding a growing world population.

Evonik strengthens methionine production hub in the US

Evonik will build a methyl mercaptan plant at its site in Mobile, Alabama, in the US. Methyl mercaptan is an intermediate in the production of MetAmino (DL-methionine) and is currently sourced from third parties. The plant is scheduled to come on stream in the second half of 2024.
